A question many people ask. What do the mountain railway employees at Dachstein Krippenstein do during the maintenance period? The answer: They work tirelessly to ensure that everything is ready for the start of the season. While many are already thinking about their first spring outings, preparations are in full swing at Dachstein Krippenstein. Because what appears calm at first glance is actually an intense work phase:
Maintenance: Facilities are inspected, serviced, and prepared for the summer. At the same time, our ski lifts are “put into winter storage.”
Caves: The caves are being prepared for the coming season—walkways and stairs are being installed, and technical equipment inside the caves is being checked and tested.
At Krippenstein at 2,100 m: The paths to the viewing platforms, such as the 5fingers, are cleared of snow so that the first routes are accessible again in time for the start of the season.
Step by step, the foundation for summer operations is laid—even if there’s still snow at 2,100 m ;-).
