Tip: Outfit

In spring hiking trails and path on Dachstein Krippenstein mountains are still covered with snow.

Robust hiking boots with with a good profile are indispensable for an exciting spring hike at 2,100 m. They provide uneven and slippery paths for a good grip

For clothing, the onion principle is recommended, which consists of two to three layers, e.g. fleece and light softshell jackets can be pulled out when needed and stored in the backpack

Winter hike

Enjoy spring in its quietest and most impressive form - on a winter hike at 2,100 metres on the Dachstein Krippenstein. On well-maintained paths, you can reach two of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Salzkammergut in a short time:

  • the World Heritage Spiral with its 360-degree panoramic view of the snow-covered peaks and imposing rock faces of the Dachstein massif and

  • the famous 5fingers, which boldly stretch out over the 400 metre deep abyss and offer breathtaking views of Lake Hallstatt.

Note: We recommend sturdy hiking boots with a good profile and warm clothing for the winter hike to the viewing platforms!
